Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Carterton

Aangon

Nice food. Pleasant and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices

Really supprisng doesn't look like much from the outside but it's nice when you get up there and the curry was good. My only complaint would be how oily it was.

The Plough Inn

Main Rd, Alvescot, Bampton OX18 2PU, UK – 01993 842281

Absolutely phenomenal food. Visited the pub last Saturday with family and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. This pub has an extensive menu, but do not be put off by this. Every dish was served cooked to perfection, the belly pork I had was without a doubt the best belly pork I have ever had. Melt in your mouth, full of moisture, with a crispy skin and an incredible sauce flavoured with fennel. We opted to share the crumble of the day which was also delicately flavoured and they didn't skimp on the custard! What was nice was the fact that main meals came with plenty of fresh vegetables which weren't over cooked and every dish was garnished with care. Would highly recommend to anybody, this place is a gem and well worth a visit.

First class food and superb staff team who all work hard to welcome and please diners. Traditional pub atmosphere. All special diets catered for and understood. Children welcome with their own menu. Recommend highly

The Shilton Rose & Crown

Bridge St, Shilton, Burford OX18 4AB, UK – 01993 842280

Have been visiting regularly for twenty years and love it. Small and friendly with open fire in winter and lovely outside garden for summer eating in pretty village with ford. Nice service and good food at sensible prices so always book for special family occasions.

Lovely Cotswold village pub. Only drawback is that there is limited seating in the bar if all your after is a pint. Good outdoor seating when weather is fine. Food here is good
